CTWC 2016 marked the seventh year of the annual competition, which reminds most of us of our earliest video gaming experiences, as competitors are tasked with outscoring their opponents in the 1989 Tetris NES version using the original NES controllers.

After two days of qualifying rounds, a final 32-player seeded bracket tournament took place, putting Tetris champions from around the world in head-to-head match-ups. In the end, it was Jonas Neubauer of Los Angeles, California, who took home the 1st place trophy and $1,000 in prize money. But this was definitely not uncharted territory for Jonas, who has now won SIX of the seven CTWC competitions.
